Broadnax Cave is a limestone cave located in Suggsville, Alabama. It is known for its stunning formations, including stalagmites, stalactites, and columns, as well as its underground river and waterfall. The cave is a popular destination for spelunkers and tourists seeking a unique adventure.
Broadnax Cave is developed in the Oligocene Series Marianna Limestone. Data on this cave was poorly represented in the Alabama Cave Survey. It was not easy to find despite the fact it was located a couple of hundred feet from a road and in a pasture. We finally met a local resident who knew where the cave was located. He was able to give us enough information for us to find it. There are three steps carved into the limestone at the entrance. We found nothing of historic significance in the cave.
