St. John’s Episcopal Church in Monroeville, Alabama, has its roots dating back to Claiborne and Perdue Hill. The church was originally established in 1858 in the Methodist church, but over time, the membership declined, and the building was eventually dismantled. In 1926, St. John’s Guild was formed in Monroeville, and in 1977, the church was moved to its new location on Whetstone Street, where a new church building was added and dedicated in 1981.
Monroe County Lake in Alabama is a popular fishing destination located 5 miles west of Beatrice. Fish species include largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, and channel catfish. The lake is open from sunrise to sunset, with different opening hours between February-June and July-November. Closed on Mondays during the former period, and closed on Mondays and Tuesdays during the latter. Open on Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day, and will reopen on February 1, 2023.
