Booker’s Mill

Booker’s Mill is a historic gristmill located in Evergreen, Alabama. Built in the 1800s, it was originally used to grind corn and wheat into flour. Today, it serves as a popular tourist attraction and event venue, offering visitors the opportunity to tour the mill and enjoy the surrounding park and picnic areas.

Spillway Falls Park

Spillway Falls Park, located below the Demopolis Lock and Dam, offers a great view of the spillway and rocky shoals. The park is home to a variety of bird species, including Hermit Thrushes, Winter Wrens, Blue-headed Vireos, Orange-crowned Warblers, and Palm Warblers in the winter. A spotting scope is helpful for observing shorebirds in migration and gulls, herons, egrets, and cormorants near the water. The park also has a trail through bottomland hardwoods with Northern Parulas, Yellow-throated Warblers, and woodpeckers. The park is a unique spot and should be included in any birding route through the Demopolis area.
