The Brooklyn access serves as the southernmost take-out for the Sepulga River Canoe Trail and the take-out for paddles from the Iron Bridge. Visitors can enjoy birdwatching and look for Northern Parulas, Red-shouldered Hawks, and Mississippi Kites. The site offers free access and amenities such as parking, canoeing, and boat access.
The Thomas E. McMillan Museum features displays of historical, archaeological and cultural south Alabama artifacts, which give a glimpse into the entire region’s past. The exhibits illustrate native American, French, English and Spanish colonists, and the early 1800s (the Andrew Jackson era), all of which directly influenced the cultural heritage of Escambia County, southwest Alabama and northwest Florida. The museum is located on the Brewton campus of Coastal Alabama Community College.
The park preserves the ruins of the former thriving antebellum river town, and provides visitors with an insight into the antebellum era of Alabama.
Offers guided quail hunts from October 1 to March 31. The preserve uses Anchor Covey Release Systems and raised birds.
The Perry Lakes Trail is a picturesque hiking trail located in Perry County, Alabama. The trail runs for 11 miles through a variety of natural habitats, including wetlands and forests, and features a boardwalk and observation deck for wildlife viewing. It’s a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers.
Established as First “Colored” Baptist Church, it is the oldest black church in Selma and one of the most historically and architecturally significant black churches in Alabama.
Located 4 miles northeast of Camden Bypass, visitors will enjoy swimming, fishing and bicycling. Group pavilions, picnic and playground areas are available.
The Demopolis Community Archery Park Deoffers targets for both adult and youth with a 14-foot elevated platform for bowhunters to simulate hunting conditions. It is located at the Demopolis Sportsplex in Marengo County and offers other recreational facilities like tennis, baseball, golf, fish pond, and a pavilion.
