The 5th Annual Black Belt Birding Festival celebrates Alabama’s Black Belt region, one of the Southeast’s premier birding destinations. Known for its diverse habitats—from prairie grasslands to bottomland swamps—this area offers a rare opportunity to observe a wide variety of bird species, including Wood Storks, Swallow-tailed Kites, Dickcissels, and Painted Buntings. The festival features field trips led by expert guides, a welcome party in Greensboro, and a keynote address on Saturday afternoon, with events spanning four counties.
